Was thinking that myself. You will be left with 75% of the parts that are worthless and cost more to post and have a eyesore on your property till you beg a scrap man to take it

them rusty creaking 17 owner sierra rolling shells available for like 1600 sovs that have had the engine box and bits to make it go removed for in say a escort mk2 are a joke, you would spend so much making one nice and it still would be a painted welded up bashed around old nacker its not economically viable imo.

unless theres sentimental value i don't see them in very poor condition worth more than 2500 nicker if not running, the smart money would be buy a decent rolling shell from a big money build that is worth more to break and build that up with a known running engine and you know what you have got

this is about the cheepest sensible cozzeh on ebay at the mo,no funny stories or it needs work,if its as good as it looks and not fucked around with then i can't see how it can lose you money if the engines ok,you could even make dough on it if you sat on it and waited for the right buyer or cleaned it up some more..

Thats the point , you will pay far to much

People are asking stupid money for rotten old shitters that should be 2k max

it realy does puzzle me how some breakers are turning a proffit , saying that i have seen the utter shite there sending customers , stuff that i throw in the skip , but because they are overpaying for shitters they have to sell every nut and bolt no matter how bad to get there money back

Good parts are hard to find now and quality stuff will start to become very expensive

I was told it was £2500, went to have a look and managed to find it. Looked around car and seen it was a lot worse than I thought and besides everything being rusted up I was told the engine wouldn't start due to some electrical fault. Battery was flat so couldn't even turn it over off key and no tools available so in all fairness it was a bit of a risk, even at the 2k we spoke about. I know engine and box is worth at least that all day long but if damaged in anyway I thought I may as well lash the money against the wall. Thought long and hard about it and after advice of fitting the YBT head to my ST Escort I thought I'd go get it today, rang him and it had been sold for £2300. Gutted lol.. Obviously it wasn't meant to be, so possibly a lucky escape? But I will never know

A ST engine is a YBP, a BT engine a YBT. So you are fitting a YB head to your YB...

Just been out and bought a sapphire today for my 106 project, it's the cheapest way I could find to do it, the leather is in great nick and the shells not too bad either and will have the log book etc, I did pay a good amount for it but feel it's the cheapest way for me to go, wish I could of got one for the above £2300.

                      Let the project commence.

Looks lovely in pic, I really like a black sapphire, how much it come for? Would be a shame to break for a project but wishing you the very best. Would be interesting to see when finished.

The silver car above I know that car, it's had a hard life and has been left standing for years. Still worth £2300 tho. He had the gearbox out of a car my mate was breaking, I had the engine.

I gave a shade under £4000 for it, it's got a fully rebuilt engine by mark barber I believe and has literally done 30 miles since, the shell is ok and has never been welded but needs a few patches, body work has various cracks from previous paintwork and repairs, it's not a basket case but would cost a fair amount to make it right.

Plus it's been sat for years and as such brakes, brake pipes, fuel lines, even the tank etc has the rust bug. A set of spark plugs and a jump start it fired into life.
