A first gear crawl and all you hear was stones bouncing off the underside of the car

None of the stands were marked out and the local group coordinator had no help, I drove straight in without anyone checking me and there were helpers standing about all over the paddock area and yet one man and his young son were left to mark out the local group stands.

I think there was probably enough there and enough going on to have a good show but it was uncoordinated and badly planned from what I saw with a subdued atmosphere.

    The merchandise was spot on
The registrar anniversary stands were spot on
The 500's are always a sight to behold
Paul swift needs a new routine though, I didn't even go and watch him at any point.

There needs to be a full time national day co-ordinater running the show as what's going on now isn't right for the clubs premier show. It's actually being eclipsed by regional days which is quite sad.

Mate your car is simply simply fecking awesome, I did stand and stare with my mouth open more than once

Thanks Chris I was admiring yours at ford fair too, I think you've hit the nail on the head with your national day summary. Ford fair and national day were both average at best for me and it's a massive shame.

having read that I'm glad we didn't spend the £100 or so it would have cost, although I bet many of you spent more than that.

Done national day a couple of times in the past, always a disappointment. Most of the fun and exciting exciting cars people like seeing on track have RS related engines but aren't genuine RS', so are denied entry. Boring!

What a load of tripe, no cars are denied entry to National Day as you can see from the replies above.

Non RS cars are denied membership to the club but that's a different argument

12 Hours!! i would have been disapointed with my 3 hours from the sounds of it.

I can remember back in the day when ford produced an RS range in most models and the show was massive, it was worth traveling then. (probably sound like an old fart now)

6 hours each way is certainly a trek.

That's just my opinion from me as a local group type persons point of view lads

I wasn't really happy on the day but I'll still go next year and the year after. There was probably loads of happy customers that enjoyed the day, I thought tiff nedell was good, the paddock suite was spot on and the way merchandise was layed out was great too, everything laid out in boxes and labelled up. The anniversary display were excellent as were the 500 race cars.

My main focus for the day was our local group and our stand and that's what's let it down for me, I feel a bit cheated by the organisers and I can't for the life of me see how someone can look at what we parked on and deemed it fit for purpose...

It was also funny as fuck to see someone awarded a trophy for going above and beyond the call of duty for the club when they'd been partly responsible for the monumental fuck up of the advanced tickets

Still it may have saved them a few quid by not paying adequate postage and then letting members pay the difference plus a handling charge... Genius on the clubs part

Martin thanks for the comments mate, I was happy with the cars presentation at FF and we were right in the sun as well.
I think I need to splash the cash over the winter though

blimey, if there were say a couple of thousand tickets then that's a significant amount
