yeah agreed - I was in our local pub the other week and there was a guy really pi$$ed off that his beloved corsa VXR had been written off and the insurance company only wanted to pay him out average market value despite having an "agreed value" in place.

The mods on mine are all notified to the insurer. (Headlights, quickshift, ECU chip, injectors, wastegate actuator and exhaust.)

The agreed value was agreed by their department for doing that, and I'd supplied them with a copy of Dave's valuation and back up photos. The agreed value is valid for two years.

Also worth noting I think you have to start the policy as laid up, you can't start as a full policy then drop to laid up

Thats interesting. Very cheap for a modded car too. I haven't done a thing yet either...will have too pull my finger out.
I have a multi car policy with admiral, but they didnt have a Cosworth on their system so couldn't insure it with my other two cars. A call about classic insurance will be a good idea.

Strange - I was with them for the previous year on a non-classic policy, and they had no problem finding the Cosworth on their system to do that....

On the other hand, I got them to quote for a multi-car to include my Focus RS and they were stupidly dear.
