Rear wheel drive or 4wd ??

I'm think of going 2wd on the escort for next year been looking on here at some threads and just wondered what people think ...

Rebuilding my Ecos and forgot which side does the shortest drive shaft go, at minute I have the shortest one on drivers side

Is a 2w/d drive clutch the same as 4x4 one or will a 4x4 clutch fit a 2w/d drive car with any modifications
