I think its german car drivers generally I keep getting E36 M3 drivers trying to race me on a regular basis and my car isnt obviously a cossie to the naked eye.

my mate has an m3 but my car gets more attention I think it is the whale tail that attracts the attention possibly because it compliments the rest of the car so so well. The onl thing differentabout my mates m3 compared to the one you talk about is its not convertible of which imho is a little feminine a serious car no doubt but its what I think of convertible's especially in countries where the weather is such that the top is only down 10 times in the year just what I think sorry if it offends anyone
