  • Bigger rad & slim fans

What options are there and what's the difference between bigger rads & slim fans on offer? They seem to vary a lot in price for what seems the same product.

Ideally also like to get the bottom rad pipe as mine is rotten.

I've heared some good things about the stuff from Airtec. Good value for money it seems but don't have any experience with it myself.

Thanks Roy, they do them in both silver and black, but don't mention an advantage of one over the other. Anyone know, or any ideas?

There is nothing wrong with the standard set up on a lightly modded car (unless it is full of shit etc, where it just requires a flush through). Why do you want to change?

The pipe is rotten and the rad is on it's last legs. So if it's got to be replaced, might as well upgrade too. Plus even with a turbo cooler it's still a bit high on the temp side.

That is a good reason .

What temps do you see (if you say the needle is in such and such a position, I will reserve the right to laugh )?

You only need the slimline fans if you physically can't fit the OE ones, which is only normally the case with the 65mm intercooler AND 50mm radiator. If you have just the 50mm intercooler, you shouldn't need the slimline fans .

Mid 90's, sometimes more, low 90's on motorway.

I've got a A&H intercooler which I believe is 60mm can't remember 100% been in there a while, was looking to put a 60mm rad in also.

You will need the slimline fans then. Depending on the ambients, I can't say if that is good or not. If in the 20s, that is to be expected. If in the mid teens, then I would expect 87-90°C.

Personally, I would go with the AH radiator to match the intercooler.....

To be honest I'd rather not go for the A&H one. My Charge temps are great from the cooler, but the mounting lined up awful.

anyone use the radtec ones on mikes site? do they require slim fans, as it doesn't state core size or mention fans?
