what kind of budget you got bud,the busa someone mentioned was a good bike, had one and loved it but found it to be to fast for its chasis if your trying to stay with sports bikes,my last proper sports bike was a brand new blade 2 years ago, very comfy for a sports bike and awsome handling / power but i think a tight fit for your size bud,i will be back on the beach on Friday if you want to give me a buzz as im goin to the scottish bike show on saturday and could pick up any brochures your after and post em down to you

k1/k2 gixxer is a good shout, for a sports bike they are very comfy and plenty quick enough, can pick up a decent one for 2-3k if you dont want to spend to much

I may have to go down the GSXR route as I rode one and it was bigger than the R1, so a bit more comfortable. I just woundnt fancy long journey's with my height, etc May have to pop up the shop and sit on a few

Ive a 1050 Tiger just now, first bike ive kept any longer than 6 months, all i had to do to it was upgrade the suspension and it will stick with an average - good rider on a sports bike for a long time untill stupid speeds or very twisty roads.Pulls and rides like a 4 cyl but engine braking like a twin, best of both worlds.
Also Much cheaper on insurance, tyres, consumables etc
