kids that dont sleep

my daughter is a fucking nightmare when it comes to sleep17 months old and has only slept through a few times,its driving me and the wife nuts,i was driving around with her at 02.30 on sat morning trying to get her to sleep. she would go to bed sleep for a few hours then its "play time" takes her anothe few hours to go back over, wakes every morning at 05.30/06.00 and up from then

anyone else have this treat

even during the day very rarely she would sleep only for 10 mins.

Not the answer you're looking for but my 2 slept ALL night from the day they were born. Sometimes 10 hours without waking. It was ace. Other parents were bleary eyed and would moan about lack of sleep and we were always ok, we felt a bit bad to be honest. We always tried hard to keep them awake during the day, no naps etc so they would be tired at night.

Although saying all that, the eldest is now 8 and our youngest is 6 and they don't want to go to bed anymore, they want to stay up playing in their rooms or be down watching TV with us so it's getting harder to get them to bed now. Then they are up early to begin the days playing/fighting/arguing so no more sleep-ins for me and the wife.

my oldest who is now 4 was never a very good sleeper. not so much waking up and being wide awake but would just wake up crying on average 4-5 times a night. he also got up at the crack of dawn. both of my boys are early risers.
it did start to settle down once he got to about 2 and a half but its very hard and pushes you to your limits having to go to work knackered.

It's hard mate but don't give in bed time is bed time go see what they want drink maybe a quick cuddle but back to bed always keep the light real low etc just keep reinforcing its night time. Your going to be in for some screaming mate as she won't like the change in routeen but will be for the best when she learns its your way. Try lavender oil in the room as that works well this was our experience anyway so may help might not

My daughter was exactly the same, its the only reason why I havent got another, don't think I could go threw that again, apart from that kids definitely the best thing ever to happen to ya,

That's it fella we had 3 hard nights with our 1st when we decided enough was enough hard but had to he done. 2nds been a piece of piss as we knew what to do etc so he has been spot on

This is quite interesting as iv got an 8 month daughter and she goes through spells like at the minute where she wakes in the middle of the night wanting to play etc we just leave her for about 10min doing what she does even cries like mad but we have realised if we just leave her alone she just goes off back to sleep luckily it's my mrs 2nd so I just leave her do it and tells me what to do lol
