i was talking to a guy called geoff page the other day ,he will have a built yb and a alloy block bare at the show ,and he garantees that it will make 1000 bhp and will push it to 1300 bhp but at a 1000 will last the same as a 500 standard blocked one ,it will look nothing like a standard block and will use a lot of design from the bdt which they use in the rs200 which goeff has built many pushing 800/900 bhp ,this is what he told me and takes a hole new look at the block design unlike copying a yb in alloy

What did he say the estimated cost of the project would be . That has to be into serious numbers.
I often wonder if going that far and its not really a Cosworth engine in the end, wouldn't it be worth trying to graft an engine from another marque into the car for eg built 4.8 V8 Porsche Twin Turbo. There good for 1300 bhp as well, costly but I wouldn't have though as much as as Geoff's
I nearly went that way with a cosworth Rally car of mine.....but the Cosworth name bring up such emotions it had to be a Cosworth engine.

Interesting Is it a billet or cast? Will it be running methanol?

£5400 for the block with 10 studs nuts washers ,92mm nicosile liners and billet steel main caps ,then it takes the standard yb parts ,his engine uses the smith ,jones yb head as it has bigger ports to start with

Very interesting. Tsakitas performance, as featured in this months performance ford, are claiming 1200hp with a modified cosworth block and looking at the quarter mile times, 8.3@178mph it believable!
Great to see people still trying new thi gs and pushing the boy dries. Was reading a feature on Geoff page building a bdt recently and he does use head gaskets on his big power engines, coppers rings and o rings.

Is that all not exactly a bank busting price. Interesting to see what the overall coat would be for 1300 bhp
            Transmission wise whats he thinking/using

Not to bad a price thinking about it and the tuni g potential and weight advantage u have.
Mark, did u ever make any of them alloy blocks u were designing?

Even a skyline os giken box is stretched at that power! Life racing box the tsakitas car uses. I wonder what the intentions are for the subject engine? Imagine drag car?

when i spoke to geoff he said there heads were really good but the blocks are really a didgitised cast iron block cast in alloy so mayby not up to big bhp but still a nice block more for nasp motor i think

                              hi mark
when i spoke to him he seems to know what hes doing ,he has built a lot of big hp rs200 motors for pikes peaks etc ,and has done a block that is above what anybody has done before and working on a carbon inlet etc ,i looked at his web and he seems to have built f1 motors etc the engine and a bare block will be at autosport so all can judge for themselves
