Wow the difference since I went to bed after nights alright boys at the end of the day, this debate has only happened purely to ensure we have a fit and forget component. So it's good people are sharing their experiences.

I dunno where some of you have purchased your diffs and managed to have a total cost that equals a 9'' diff, but after everything needed on mine it was still cheaper than a rebuilt quaife 7.5. And it's still together after a good few years in a car that probably does more miles than all of you combined. It's proven that people with massive power are more likely to break the cover, but it still remains a more reliable conversion IMO because I have yet to hear of anything damaging internally other than the cover, so already well ahead of a Cossie diff. Yes the cover breaks, but it's nothing new and even breaks on Supras themselves. But everything needs development from the start, just like that F1 comment previously.

I continue on at you Justin because you are convinced your plan will work where it's PROVEN it will cause catastrophic failure. It's happened before with a weak cover, how much damage do you think will happen with a more durable cover with no give at all? Recently someone has broken their cover and managed to split the beam as well, so I see massive damage coming your way. I hope I'm proven wrong, but it's already happened.

As for the top cover debate, Mark has explained over and over already. But here's some more info for you. Over 2000 psi of pressure before it moves/flexes. This is how it works when fitted, its in tension and compression. Not taking the hanging weight which is what the diff mount is SOLELY for.

Obviously it isn't the plate it's self bending and like other people have tried it them selves and ive also said when it's bolted onto the bracket there is flex when you pull on it so it's no taking any weight like YOU were trying to tell me.
Untill mark came on and gave a proper explanation what the plate was doing no what you though, I see what irs design for.
Will it break something with using my new diff cover and front brackets only, we will see.

did the Saph that wripped the diff out the floor, was there diff mount made a all in 1 piece that use the same pick up point that plate in question used?

Enough with the cheap shots cossieking, not helping the situation. We're talking development here, not time frames and petty irrelevant points.

                        @ Justin

The top plate does take weight, so are you referring to the beam itself that flexes when the plate is bolted in or the plate itself? As I've shown below, unless you're superman I doubt you can rock 2000 psi of human arm pressure to make it flex you need a bit of flex or give some places, but in the right places. The saph that broke was not using an mk kit, so basically the same setup you're planning. I'm not saying this to annoy you, I'm trying to save you heartache mate!

IMO the main man to test the kit fully with billet cover in place will be Steve Punton. He will have a full Bara rebuilt 3.7 with s weir performance kit, bolted to a 680 horse 6 speed elite sequential that's given no mechanical sympathy. If it lasts longer in his hands, we're laughin' 😉

Why is puntun better to test than justin? Didn't Justin spank escos Gaz car which had an elite box in?

I never bite these days tomps, seems that's your job
Steve has more power and a sequential box that puts shock through the full transmission so I think Cochyn is getting at that car will be a good test to see what abuse the kit can take as there are not many people 2wd putting that much shock/strain on the diff.
Justin's car will be a good car too with its big power and the pod action no doubt.

Shame you can't build a fast car to try it
