Potential orders for 18 inch escoz replica wheels

How much are these ??

I'm still confident that we can arrive close to 150 per wheel including VAT, import duties etc.etc., let's say 175 per wheel to be on the safe side, since we want to do some mods probably (ET 15) and thorough testing of each wheel on casting quality/cracks/shape/balance etc. Then a set of four would be 700 gbp. This is assuming we can have the 120 center-caps reproduced in good quality for under 15gbp a piece, but this is still a very rough assumption as I have no quote for that yet (Otherwise we probably have to buy the originals for 25gbp+ and the set becomes about 740)

That's up to everyone here, but I could imagine that one wheel, i.e. 175gbp is serious commitment.

i thought you could get centre caps still from ford ?

my opinion and input would be to redo them with a cosworth logo in the centre caps or a big RS so not the same but how they should of looked if ford had done a proper job

I agree with the above and would also be more than happy to put that kind of deposit with a mod once agreed

True, but they are about 25 gbp a piece for a tiny piece of plastic, and there is always the chance that the Chinese paint is slightly different, so I thought it would be better to just have them make new ones and spray paint them in exactly the same color, as long as they can do it for less than, say, 15 quid.

SUPER COOL idea! Really like it. I really like this style RS logo



But cosworth is also fancy. Any more opinions on this?

the problem with the logos is there is no inbetween for our cars era.

The ford oval is the winner here IMO.

If the Dutchman gets it right loads of people will want new centre caps with rs or cozzeh logos if they fit std wheels and the Mondeo Escort Gti wheels ..

I'm trying to We can make a larger run than 120 of the center caps of course, no problem there. Difficult to estimate how much are needed though.

Just brought one of my 16 inch wheels to the 3D scanning guys, they say they have it scanned early next week. Also, they will scan the center cap separately to see what we can do with that.

Another thing is copyright - If I print cosworth on the caps, for sure I have copyright issues, given it's still an active brandname. If I print 'Ford' I have the same issues.

Not so sure about 'RS' though - I think Ford doesn't have a registered trademark there, or do they? Will they have copyright on their RS logo's? Does anyone know how we can check?

If so then what about Reg plates or even better is the escort RS Cosworth.com site lettering silhouette with the escort above the wording

The other option of course is to leave a 60mm flat resess in the middle for everyone to put there own logos

Today I was really excited about the progress:
- Got the 3D files back from the scanning guys of the 16 inch version. They scanned millions of points on the original wheel into a mesh file; see here the visualization:

- My ford insider guy came back with the technical drawings and original specs of the 16 inch wheel, how super cool is that! See a low res version here:



- Now I'm lining up the solidworks guru's to first make the 16 inch version and then the adjusted 18 inch with ET 15mm instead of 25mm.
