Didn't know they could bend like that. Im assuming its only the fronts that bend?

Sapph 4wd and Escos have use same shocks, 2wd have different front shocks I presume springs are different though.

Yup, one TINY kink Paul exactly the same as the one I quoted from Dougs picture post.

Both my pics above are with the car on the same struts, and all that has been altered is the hole has been elongated in the Koni's NOTHING ELSE

The one with the Rondells in silver was taken almost 2 years ago and the one with the wheels in gold is from last summer.

I've got 7 or 8 that are bent more than the "tiny kink" one shown (but not as bad as the other one in the top pic)......Once there is a kink (however slight) then it can only get worse over time, because it's a weak spot.

Decided not to buy anymore Koni's, so I purchased GAZ for front and rear. So far all is well after 8/9 months. Gary told me that the steel they use IS thicker than on the Koni's.....and all is good so far. I know this beacuse I check my camber at least a couple of times a month with accurate home-mage guages.

Bonus is that the GAZ front struts and rear dampers have more adjustable settings (not just the soft/med/hard of the Koni's), it took a bit longer to find the optimum damper settings, but very good results in the end

Also with the GAZ you do not have to unbolt the rear damper to adjust it - so a lot easier adjust/fine tune, without even having to jack the car up.

I'd stay clear of the standard Gaz, Adjuster packed up on mine and i rearly adjusted them. Ride is shite too. Bouncy as fook. Gaz gold look good!

the gaz coilovers i had were crap, there is a metal flange welded to the shock to stop it going too far inside the hub like we are on about but one of mine went round in a spiral it touched the hub in one place, then went uphill about 5mm

Gaz do two types, the std coilover and the gold coilover ( gold being chunky-er and more adjustable iirc)

What spring weights are you running on yours out of interest ?

I think we're talking standard shocks here, not coilovers

As JHS said above, these are the equivalent of Koni's..........I'm using Ahmed springs.

The above combination when correctly set up is simply exquisite

Takes a fair bit of time to set up the damping (because of the large range of adjustment available) but IMO well worth the hassle.
