our new inlet is very good mate, picking up mid range and top end in comparrison with a rs500 item. its proven very valuable on our 500+ engines

the thing with a track car ben, with barrels, when are you feathering the throttle on and off very fast? theyre designed for rally cars, and more so gravel cars to give a quick squirt of torque bottom end and very controllable whilst sideways.

    you dont NEED barrels

I'd go for a hart plenum. Not a lot of money and good power gains.

for all my tuning needs i use Turbosystems 07587188434. ask for tony

ben , at 450hp i would think a small turbo inlet should do your job well mate .
t6 ecu between 1000 and 1500 i have seen them at
wheels , speedlines are lighter than comps . they are done in et33 of set (grpa )
gear box, if on a budget i would go for a r and d dog box , after tracking a car with a road car box or with a dog box i would never go for road car again , pure crap.
people say r and d is not strong enough , but thats a load of shite , andy gallager ran one for years .
hubs i would run with the new grpa ones mk makes he can make them with any drive shaft flange you wish for .
mk makes grp comp struts and tcs
suspenion i would op for proflex , grpa spec ( these will fit mks front up rights ) ( £2000)
blade anti roll bars they come up from time to time on flebay ( full set £500), i dont no if mk does these .
grpa steel x member again mk makes new ones seacond hand £500

              thanks steven

i can see this going into a lot of money then getting broken for parts, hope not Ben but thats the way they all go.

can you not do it a bit on the cheap, then progress from there if you want to do it serious enough....saying that, you have gone in at the deepend buying that shell.

                good luck getting the parts.

                Dave.

I would agree with Steven if your only going for 450 bhp and starting with a small turbo engine, I would use the inlet aswell its free and would easily flow 450.

Keep it simple, standard engine with a good turbo, intercooler & the right injectors/map will do 450, just look at cossie richs spec on his Saff.

Sort the handling with the beam & coilovers, good brakes then you are away. Won't break too much & cost of replacement parts is far less!

Thing is Jim i know i dont NEED them BUTwhen i drove mikes car home from SCS "yours" the throttle response was amazing this is what sold the barrels for me in the first place... since scrapping the old car i have had a WRX STI, GT30 450hp Evo various other new cars and borrowed an M3, M5, Cayman ect ect and none of them revved like the barrels... you know how they feel jim you tap the throttle and the rev needle bounces right!? you push the peddel in my old escos and the response is not there... you cant explain this to someone who has never expirianced it as people will say my escos revs as you tap the throttle but with the roller barrel throttle bodys its like your revving a bike.... i know what i mean anyway... enogh rambling just got in ive drunk a bottle of Morgans rum tonight....

Hi steven had this discussion with mike on my way out tonight and a standard ST inlet is what we both decided would be best unless a roller barrel comes up...

i did think about speedlines as im sure swis michael had a few sets and i remember them being really light... not the nest looking wheel but if they are the lightest!!! you know how it is...

could you pm me them numbers over when you get a chance please mate got a good idea of what i need now thanks for all the help and phone convo's

deep end.....the shell you bought is a fantastic car, you NEED to buy proper parts to compliment it....thats what i meant.
