hi chaps, i have just been reading this thread so looked on ebay and see dozens of sensors for sale as im sure you have looked, you guys really know your cars and have an incredible knowledge of them but i am curious to know will these parts not fit are cars?
All i no about escort cosworths are the parts are rare and very expensive, fortunately mine has low miles so i dont use many parts plus the fact its not moved for 3 years.
Do i need to be careful then if i see parts saying they fit the car when they may not, how good are these compatible charts and where do they get their information from? Cheers, mark.
99% of new parts on ebay are not for the es cos,so never buy from there, the charts they use are completely wrong ,there used to be one place on there who were always advertising stuff for normal escorts and saying it was for the cossie,it became a standing joke on here
there are tons of adverts on ebay and the likes advertising this that and the other for a Cosworth, when actually they're not. It is a bit of mind field to say the least, sometimes you really need to know what you're looking for.
In regards to the sensors we've done this based on others experience, especially those that frequently do restorations have a very good knowledge of what is available or not and so far we are yet to see a sensor that works and has the correct loom connection on, plus I'm sure the company that are currently making these would have done research into this, to see what was about or not.
On another note more details about your car and a picture would be lovely
ben i want a set but not just yet but if you need to make numbers up then count me in bud
by the way thanks for sorting this ben well done all involved
Well if i need any parts i will make double sure they are the right ones and hope i can call on you guys for some of your advice, it seems getting parts for the cos is getting harder with them parts getting discontinued, a problem i have with my rs1600i which is 10 years older and probably rarer.
BEN, im sorry but im not to good with computers and have not worked out how to send pics on this sight ive only just learnt to do it on email.
I came over 4 years ago to get the car its a 1993 bt lux with 26k in gloss black with 2 owners, its as it left the factory apart from a 325 boost at ggr and new exhaust, ive done 200 miles since then, what a waste i no but nice to have and with banks offering nothing in interest it can stay where it is.
I did not buy it as an investment but if im honest its because im scared to use it because the standard of some drivers is so appalling i could not bare to see it smashed up and as good as impossible to repair, i no its only a lump of metal with a wheel in each corner but thats just me.
Darren, we're still testing them at the moment, we're hopeful that the results we'll have everything in we need in the next couple of weeks to give the go ahead
